Texture and Ingredients of the product

This lotion is whitish fluid, and has a bit of runny consistency. Nonetheless, no problem while I apply it on my face. It has a very mild fragrance which I find quite pleasant.

Ingredients: The product is rich in Avene thermal spring water. Other ingredients include;
Avène Thermal Spring Water (Avène Aqua), Isohexadecane, Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Algin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii Butter), Caprylyl Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol Linseedate, Carbomer, Cetearyl Glucoside, Dipotassium Phosphate, Disodium EDTA, Disodium Phosphate, Fragrance (Parfum), Glyceryl Laurate, Papain, Polyacrylate-13, Polyisobutene, Polysorbate 20, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Sodium Hydroxide, Sorbitan Isostearate, Water (Aqua).

Packaging and Quantity of the Lotion

Lotion comes in a 40 ml tube. I have been using it for more than 4 months now and about 1/3rd of the product still remains. So I think its safe to say that a little goes a long way.

The tube is made of soft plastic and is quite sturdy. Since it is not a glass bottle, hence no fear of breakage in case it is dropped. The cap is also quite secure. Thus no chances of leakage of liquid from the cap. The fine tip is also a plus point when it comes to easy and accurate dispensing of the product. The tube is also very travel friendly because of its petite size and secure cap.

Method and Duration of Use

The directions on the bottle say to apply it apply it morning and/or evening to the face. Avoid contact with eyes. I take pea sized amount on my finger tips, which is enough to cover my whole face. I avoid the eye contour area while applying it on my face.

I bought this clarifying lotion about 4 months ago. Ever since then, I have been using it every evening, sometimes I apply it in the mornings as well. 

My regime of application is as follows: First I cleanse my face (double cleanse in the evening, single cleanse with face wash in the morning), then I apply Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance EXPERT Lotion. Some times I would be a very skin care aficionado and apply another acne calming lotion Yves Rocher Sebo Pure Vegetal Clarifying Lotion (read the detailed review of yves rocher sebo vegetal lotion) before I apply any acne treatment if I'm breaking out etc. Followed by the sunscreen if it's day time or serum if it's night time.

What I love about Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance EXPERT Lotion

Honestly, ever since I have started using this lotion, my skin feels calm. There is no redness which usually occurs on my cystic acne prone skin once I start using a new skin care product. This product is made for acne prone skin and is rich in Avene thermal spring water, which I think is a major reason why my skin feels instantly calm after I apply it on my face.

I have noticed that even if I have active acne, the regular application of this lotion makes the scars fade away easier. Any person who suffers from cystic acne would know that fading the scars is a night mare in itself (especially if you have a lighter skin tone). It is not an over night process as many products give fake claims about it, it actually takes a decent amount of time. That's why I am sharing my honest review here that when I am using Avene Cleanance lotion, the process fading the scars gets a bit easier. The skin overall feels smooth too.

The light tropical fragrance is also a plus for me. Nothing overpowering, but a mild scent that lingers for quite a bit and I love it.

Price and Availability of the product

Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance EXPERT Lotion comes with a price tag of $26 (at the time of writing this post). For the quantity of the product, the price is completely worth it. Not just because the product works so great for me, but also because that’s a huge bottle when it comes to daily amount of usage.
